Was on a train like the picture early this spring. What a remarkable trip. Also took the Southwest Chief. It was also remarkable, in that it took nearly 12 hours longer to get back than scheduled. One of my favorite activities on the train is meeting new people. I had dinner twice with a really nice, older, woman I met on the train, got to know a number of people in my car, and barely had time to read (except on the bus ride from Temple, Texas to Dallas). . .
