Some random notes:
1.
Ultimate X-Men is probably going to be my "best new comic discovery" of 2008. (
X-Factor was 2007's winner.)
2. I have made YAWSFMP (yet another web site for my projects). You can see it
here. Yes, there are privacy issues. No, I don't expect that it will wake up some day and decide to exterminate the human race.
3. What's currently on my plate at the moment: working on my master's degree, TA'ing a course on human-computer interaction (HCI), preparing for another study of Internet and media usage using text messaging, defining a project proposal for
ad-hoc media sharing using cheap Bluetooth devices (think
Zune's squirting), pondering how my work might be an interesting battleground between labor and management with regards to privacy (see above) and control, and integrating the new information from Providence into
my Lovecraft work.
This is not a complete list.
4. Where did April go?
5. Pink Floyd's
"The Wall" DVD will be the disc I use to calibrate my future home theatre system.
6.
"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was a hoot. I especially enjoyed all the Kristen Bell self parody. They also need to make that Dracula rock opera into a real album.
7. I'm still trying to figure out how I wasn't screwed up as a kid, given that I loved "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" and it was directed and produced by the two most demented directors I can think of:
Stuart Gordon and
Brian Yuzna.
8. Robert E. Howard had
a much better girlfriend than he deserved. I guess that's probably true for all guys at one point or other.
10.
Cutiepi has been temporarily retired from the WoW battlegrounds.
11. As of this morning, I'm really starting to appreciate
Korn.
